GRA continues work on Pay Restoration 01.04.16
GRA members will receive ballot papers on roster changes in coming days
Dermot O’Brien, GRA President said "The pay restoration process has been on-going for some time and we have had a number of useful meetings with Mr. McGee. The GRA
urges the membership to keep pay and rosters separate. The proposed WTA and revised roster changes are beneficial to members and delaying their introduction would be counter-productive.
The proposed WTA is being recommended because it is unambiguously in the interests of members. It is based on the most advanced regulation
of working time in Scandinavian police forces. It will definitively apply the European Working Time Directive to An Garda Síochána thereby protecting members against the negative health and welfare effects of onerous shift work.
The changes to the revised roster will reduce fatigue and improve work-life balance for members.". " read full statement here
