GARDA PAY - THURS 31-07-14   3.00 p.m.
We are advised that the banking issue is now corrected. Due to processing AIB, BOI & Ulster Bank customers will receive pay 1st thing tomm morning & PTSB & Credit Union members some short time later.

10.30 a.m. All Garda pay goes through Pay Section, Killarney's Bank of Ireland account. Due to a problem with B.O.I., no member was paid this morning. Bank of Ireland have assured Pay Section that this problem will be resolved & members paid by 12 midnight tonight.

NEW SICK LEAVE REGULATIONS   14.03.14
The Minister for Public Expenditure & Reform has signed the Public Service Management (Sick Leave) Regulations 2014 giving effect to new standardised regulations for Sick Leave across the Public Service, including for members of an Garda Síochána, which come into operation from 31st March 2014.
The main provisions of the new regulations are:
- A max of 92 days (3 months) paid sick leave in a 1 year (12 month) period
- followed by a max of 91 days (3 months) in a 1 year (12 month) period,
subject to an overall max of 183 days’ (six months’) paid sick leave in a 4 year period.
- In cases of critical illness or injury, provision for a max of 183 days (6 months) on full pay in a 1 year period followed by 182 days (6 months) on half pay, subject to an overall maximum of 365 days’ (one year’s) paid sick leave in a four-year period.
- Where sick leave remuneration has been exhausted Temporary Rehabilitation Remuneration (TRR) will be paid & where a member has been paid sick leave of 365 days in a 4 year period, TRR will not exceed 365 days. Further details

In the rebroking of the GRA Critical Illness Scheme, to continue to provide the same level of benefits, it has been necessary to agree an increase in subscriptions. The new premiums are €4.83 p.w for member & children; €8.78 p.w. for member, spouse & children from 1st Nov. 2013. Details

Members voted 84% Yes; 16% no. The Proposals protect pay & establishes an independent Review to put in place a mechanism for negotiating Garda pay & conditions. Full text of the Proposals
