ACTION AGAINST PAY CUTS - FRIDAY 19TH MARCH 2010
Each GRA member has received, in the past week, GRA Newsletter
10/24 setting out the range of actions against Pay-Cuts agreed by our Executive Committee. Two of those - 3. “...to immediately withdraw the use of personal equipment and to desist from using mobile
phones while on duty and not to respond to telephone calls through either their mobiles or home phones when off duty - other staff associations will be asked to respect this policy”, & 4.
"... that members not to attend either High or Circuit Courts without first being given the appropriate summons and being advised in accordance with the principles of law." were qualified in that
in that it was set out that a declaration will be drafted for signature by members and distributed by your District representatives. These will be presented in bulk to the District Officers by Friday, 19th
March, 2010. The declaration sets out the position on the answering of mobile phones etc. and our decision in respect of High Court summonses.
This action will commence on the 22nd March, 2010 and the Garda
Commissioner will be advised accordingly.
