Amendment

In line one after the word “Conference” insert the words “directs the CEC to withdraw from” delete the words “debates the usefulness of the” and continue with the words “Conciliation and Arbitration”.

In line two delete the word “machinery” and continue with “and seek access to”.

After the words “access to” insert the words “the Labour Court and the industrial relations machinery of same”. Delete the words “other alternatives”.

Proposed amended motion would then read:

“That Conference directs the Central Executive Committee to withdraw from Conciliation and Arbitration and seek access to the Labour Court and the industrial relations machinery of same”.

12. “That the GRA employ a full time media officer and provide media training for the Officer Board to give interviews on all matters relating to the Association and to ensure that interviews given to the press are totally in compliance with approved Association policy, and delivered in a professional fashion”.

Rule 6

6.Services

The services and schemes promoted and supported by the Association shall only be available to fully paid up members and associate members of the Association.

Proposed Amendment

Delete the following sentence

“The services and schemes promoted and supported by the Association shall only be available to fully paid up members and associate members of the Association. and replace with:

“In order to avail of the services and schemes administered by the Association for e.g. Group Members Life Assurance Scheme, GRA Group Critical Illness Scheme etc. a member must be:

a) a fully paid up member of the Garda Representative Association

b) on the day of promotion a member of the relevant scheme.

c) a fulltime member of a recognised staff association in An Garda Siochana thereafter on promotion.”
