The GRA Central Executive Committee approved a review of the Legal Aid Scheme which had been originally introduced by the Association per Circular GRA 5/14, 7th September, 1988. Improvements to the Scheme are applicable from April 2006.
The Legal Assistance Scheme, one of the Premier Services of the Association, provides for assistance for members of the Garda Representative Association in Legal matters in
specified circumstances, as approved by the Central Executive Committee.
Members seeking assistance should, in the first instance, contact their Central Executive Committee member immediately.

Members in difficulty should not in any circumstance address, or attempt to deal with a difficulty themselves, without first seeking advice on the matter.
April 2006: The Terms of Legal Assistance Scheme have been comprehensively Reviewed by the Central Executive Committee.
