The GRA Central Executive Committee approved a review of the Legal  Aid  Scheme  which  had  been  originally been introduced by the Association per Circular GRA 5/14, 7th September, 1988. Improvements to the Scheme are applicable from April 2006.

The Legal Aid Scheme, one of the Premier Services of the Association, provides for assistance for members of the Garda Representative Association in Legal matters in specified circumstances, as approved by the Central Executive Committee.

Members seeking assistance should, in the first instance, contact their Central Executive Committee member immediately, or in his / her absence the member of the Panel of Friends for their Division (See Details of Panel Of Friends below).

For Details of your CEC Representative CLICK HERE

Members in difficulty should not in any circumstance address, or attempt to deal with a difficulty themselves, without first seeking advice on the matter.

April 2006: The Terms of Legal Assistance Scheme have been comprehensively Reviewed by the Central Executive Committee.

Contact Details of the Association’s Panel of Solicitors are shown below.

For detailed information on the Legal Assistance Scheme, contact your CEC Representative or the GRA Office.

A new booklet detailing changes and all the provisions of the Scheme has been furnished to each member of the Association and is available from the GRA Office.
